Reviews
"Globalization and Health sets a high standard for rigor and depth by its critical analysis of highly important and controversial topics of global health. The book is a tremendous asset for educators and policy makers, whether they require an introduction to the issues or a deeper analysis of the evidence. Advocates for health and equity will find the book invaluable, and anyone seriously interested in global health in the current era of globalization will find it a valuable reference." - Stephen Gloyd, JAMA, "Globalization and Healthsets a high standard for rigor and depth by its critical analysis of highly important and controversial topics of global health. Synopsis
Based on the findings of a global research project undertaken by the World Health Organization, this volume systematically analyzes the relationship between globalization and global trends in health outcomes. This will be a necessary addition for scholars studying globalization, health and social policy, and public health across the social sciences., Contemporary globalization has had tremendous impact on health equity across the globe. However, no volume has systematically analyzed the relationship between globalization and global trends in health outcomes. This book consolidates and updates the findings of a global research project undertaken by the Globalisation Knowledge Network (GKN) of the World Health Organization's Commission on Social Determinants of Health. Chapters examine such questions as: How has trade liberalisation affected the social determinants of health? How has globalization affected food security, nutrition and equitable access to water and sanitation? How well do present global governance structures take account of the health equity effects associated with the social determinants of health? This landmark volume will be a necessary addition for researchers and scholars studying the field of globalization, health and social policy, and public health across the social sciences.

- c***a (121)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThe seller was very responsive and answered me on a timely matter. The product itself came in its packaging and was new, not used at all. The packaging was not beat up or anything, safely delivered to my mailbox. No mix ups and zero stress with delivery. The price for the product is completely understandable for the product. I really appreciate the seller and I am very happy to have purchased through this seller. Completely trustable!
- m***4 (1605)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseLeaving positive feedback because 1) item was packed well & arrived as described 2) seller did give partial refund when subsequent price dropped below org purchase price. 3) communication was quick However, there was a downside to this transaction -item listed as in-stock but ended up waiting nearly a month for them to get it from their distributer then ship it to me (bought June 29th, arrived around July 21). Auction said 12-15 days. Better clarity would have prevented lot of frustration
