    Synopsis
The Pulitzer Prize-winning, bestselling biography of America's founding father and second president that was the basis for the acclaimed HBO series, brilliantly told by master historian David McCullough. In this powerful, epic biography, David McCullough unfolds the adventurous life journey of John Adams, the brilliant, fiercely independent, often irascible, always honest Yankee patriot who spared nothing in his zeal for the American Revolution; who rose to become the second president of the United States and saved the country from blundering into an unnecessary war; who was learned beyond all but a few and regarded by some as "out of his senses"; and whose marriage to the wise and valiant Abigail Adams is one of the moving love stories in American history. This is history on a grand scale--a book about politics and war and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, John Adams is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

I ordered three items from this seller, and one was damaged in transit (the seller is not at fault for this). However the seller very quickly righted everything, communicating with me the entire time. The other two items were in perfect condition, arrived on time, and were exactly as described. They were very quick to fix what was wrong, and were very polite about the entire thing. I will be buying from them again in the future.

The seller Orion Tech LLC is one of my occasional shopping sites. This purchase I had a problem, the only one so far. The books were packed well, shipped quickly and just as described. But this was not the book I ordered. I sent two photos of the book received and the ISBN code and I received a prompt refund. I bought two books the third book was free! I am still delighted being an Orion Tech Books customer and will be shopping at Orion Tech Books in the future. Thank you.

      Great storytelling!

This was book 4 as I read the Presidential biographies. Since this was the second Adams book I read, I could compare styles and information. I read Ferling's biography first, and I believe it was more informative and balanced in it's style. This book was a great story. It read more like a novel and had almost all the information of the other, except it was a bit lacking in Adams's childhood and his legacy. It also felt a little more uneven in direction in the beginning, but became more linear as it went on. I enjoyed the masterful storytelling and plenty of primary source material. Compared to George Washington, who I still feel I know, I really feel I know Adams. It could also be because he was more outgoing, talkative, and critical of life, I felt more of a connection. It could also be ...

    • John Adams

This is a very slow read, find I put it down and read other less weighty books between but it is excellent and I am learning more history than I ever did in school!
