Exactly as described. I ordered the bridge for a replica Chinese 335 that I was worried wouldn't fit. The bridge posts set perfectly in the existing post holes by "pushing" the new ones in. Excellent! No wobble so I would suggest not to let the look of the bridge post fool you. I imagine people return this because they don't know to "push" the bridge post into the existing posthole hardware they already have on their guitar. The guitar went from untunable to amazingly stable with this bridge.

Seller is responsive to questions. Shipping was quick. Item exactly as described. Thank you. Note on the Schaller STM roller bridge: Set up properly, this bridge is a great replacement for OEM 12" radius bridges on Gibson Les Pauls. I found that by adjusting the center two rollers slightly outward, and the outer two rollers slightly inward, it flattens the radius close to what is on the fretboard. Doing so, you can shave a millimeter+ from the action, which improves intonation and playability.

Not the 80s Schaller Quality any more

I’ve played and installed many of these Schaller STM bridges since the early 80s. I was expecting the same exact quality I was used to getting with the Schaller name. Apparently everything has changed since the grandson took over in 2007. The work is done in Asia not Germany. The metal is much lighter. The tooling is fast and imperfect. The chrome finish is decent. Sad to see Schaller value profits over quality and the passion for a better than average product.

  • Mine is 35 years old.

And it still looks brand new. It's a chrome unit that came on my 1975 Les Paul Deluxe goldtop when I bought it in 1983. The former owner had installed it, and so I don't really know how old it is, but I'm guessing it's from the early 80's. Anyways, after 35 years I still have it on my goldtop and have never even considered to replace it. This guitar is all original except the bridge, and it's just the most fantastic playing Les Paul I've ever played. Maybe the bridge is the reason why. I don'tknow. But this guitar is so sweet sounding, has sustain for days and stays in perfect tune even after sitting in the closet for years. I've never reset the intonation on this guitar. It always sound absolutely amazing. Unlike my Strat or Ibanez which are reintonated several times a year. It has a ...

  • Great bridge

I had an old tune-o-matic with sharp saddles that ate strings for breakfast on a Washburn CT3. Replacing it with this bridge was really easy and I noticed a clear improvement in the quality of the sound (better attack, fuller sound), slightly diminished sustain which is totally fine by me. setting the intonation was pretty hard and it's important to pay attention while changing the strings not to mess up the string's distance between each other, but other than that I feel it improved my guitar dramatically.

  • Stay tuned!

Last year, I installed a Deusenburg Les Trem II on my 2016 Gibson SG P90. Great product, but had trouble staying in tune. Bought a cheap roller bridge first: waste of money. It wasn't adjustable so couldn't intonate the guitar or adjust string spacing. This Schaller bridge does both for around twenty bucks more. Wonderful product, don't waste your cash on a cheap one like I did, just go ahead and get this if you're using a bigsby, les trem, or similar trem system on a tune-o-matic bridge. I would put this bridge on any guitar in with that setup, even if it cost twice as much. Easy to dial in string spacing and intonate. My SG still doesn't stay in tune as well as my hardtail tele, but it's a huge improvement over the stock bridge. "Good enough for jazz," as my old guitar teacher used to ...
