    Good Start

    I like the brief backround information about today's knitting culture. The book gives very easy to understand instrucions to get the novice knitter started at the craft. The patterns were somewhat lacking for me, though. I did like the cell phone case, knit gloves, knit tank and bikini (which I am making as a gift), however. Good start, but I would like a more exhaustive book on knitting. This is great to just get started. The pictures are very helpful.

    The cool Girls Guide to Knitting

    For such an interesting catchy title, It's what this book is lacking that stands out. Very small thumbprint illustrations and a handful of uninspiring patterns save for one doable sweater. Since this book is from England maybe it just wasn't my style. Overall, this book really didn't give me any new information or recreatable styles. Sorry.

    This book and the one for ctochet were written for the Girl Scouts, great teaching and beginner books
