I find this machine best for line work and color work because it hits heavy and consistently. I think it can be good at shade work, from dark gray to light gray if you keep your hand speed fast and or turn down the voltage on your power supply to around 4.5v-5v. And for line work and coloring its best to set your voltage to 7v-7.5v. With all that said, just buy it, you'll love it.
