About this product

Product Information

This karaoke-style game from Eidos revolves around the world of hip-hop music, featuring 40 licensed songs and a presentation themed with rap music culture. As one of eight customizable characters, players aim to keep the beat as they speak the word. Winning performances are rewarded with virtual "bling." As in other games of the style, such as Codemasters' American Idol or Konami's Karaoke Revolution, competing players perform to an in-game audience, which will enthusiastically cheer a good performance, but may walk away from virtual rappers who can't lay it down with style. Multiple difficulty levels are available, to help players of all skills to compete, and the game's "Party" mode runs like a regular karaoke machine, allowing a group of friends to get together and take turns entertaining one another "on da mic."

  • Get on da mic!

Overall the game is really fun. My cousins and I have a good time in the freestyle mode rhyming over various beats. We also love how you can use the eye toy to practice your rhyming and see yourself as if you were a real rapper. Though I would have prefered that they used the original artists to perform the songs because some of the people they used to perform the songs don't have the same flair. I would have also liked more customization when it came to the create a character mode ;like more freedom to make the character your own rather than one already in the game. I also have a new appreciation for performers because you need alot of breath to spit out some of these rhymes.

  • Rappin ain't easy

If you ever thought that rapping was easy this game will prove otherwise. The songs are for the most part songs that most people know so that helps. It is mostly a game for one person though it does offer a duel type of mode. If the game can create at enough of a buzz to have sequeals it could probably get better, but for now I would say it is just an average game.

  • get on da mic

My family enjoys karaoke except for my 15 year old son who only likes the kind of music that is on this game, I didn't even know there was such a game until I saw it on ebay. Now my whole family has a great time on family night and no one is left out.

  • GET ON DA MIC PS2

I got this game for my fiancee for xmas beacuse it was unlike any we had. We played it together and we both thought it was really fun! we still have stuff to figure out, but its fun so far! we love to compete and this is a fun way to do it... 1 thing we did like was how the rap battles were scored by each other instead of automatcially and we thought it woudl have been cool if the eye toy had put us on stage niot just in our living room.. over all i would give this game an A- which is really good coming from me cuz im picky! i want to find more games like this

  • hip hop karaokie Get On Da Mic (Playstation 2)

It is hard! Even if you grew up with the songs! I bought 2 mics thinking kids can sing together, but there wasn't any options for both mics to work together or even back and forth. the kids had to use the same mic and switch back for each turn. It really wasn't what I expected. If it had a play through feature so you can listen to the songs that would have been a good mix cd.
