  • Great performance; too much reverberation

A magnificent performance that was recorded with very resonant acoustics. This transfer, like all of the Warner Classics reissues of the recording, has too much reverberation. The sound is unpleasantly echoey, although it's not as bad as the transfer on the Praga label. The best digital CD transfer, if you can find it, is the original one on EMI.
