Die Positionierungszeit, welche die Samsung SpinPoint T166 500 GB, Intern, 7200 RPM, 8,89 cm (3,5 Zoll) (HD501LJ) Festplatte durchschnittlich benötigt, beträgt 8,9 ms und ihre mittlere Wartezeit liegt bei 4,17 ms. Laut Hersteller wartet die Festplatte mit einer mittleren Betriebszeit von 600000 Stunden auf. Ihre Maße betragen 101,6x147x26,1 mm und ihr Gewicht liegt bei 672 g.
