About this product

Product Information

Portal's puzzles are back with new adventures and gameplay options, adding more twists and turns than ever before. Former test subject Chell is trapped in the Aperture Science facility, controlled by artificial intelligence nemesis GLaDOS. Portal 2 takes first-person shooting to a new level, thanks to the Aperture Science hand-held device, which allows players to clear temporary passages through solid surfaces. Tractor beams and special gels for propulsion and repulsion make play quick paced and exciting. In addition to Chell, Portal's second chapter features several returning characters, as well as several new ones. But, it is Portal 2's engrossing storyline that is at the core of its gameplay, which incorporates physics to solve challenges and puzzles. New to this entry is the multiplayer capability, which features its own separate story, gameplay, and characters. Rated E10+, Portal 2 is appropriate for players 10 years old and up.

Portal 2: One of best games for PS3.

Fantastic game. Takes everything great from the original Portal game from 2007, expands it, and makes it better. More characters, expanded (and interesting) story. more challenges, more game mechanics, and just a much longer game in terms of play time overall. It will help with perspective of the story and understanding the game mechanics, but you don't need to know anything about the first game (or have played it), to enjoy this, by the way. The game superficially looks like a first person shooter game, but its actually a physics-based puzzle game with a unique in game mechanic. Although there are a few points where having some skill with a controller is necessary, there aren't many, and the game is much more conceptual/cerebral than "reflex based". Also game is effectively rated ...

  • Fun Team Building Logic/Puzzel Game

Portal 2 is a fun thinking puzzle game where you enter various levels of a building and have to work together to find a way out. It is fun, but isn't a game that you can play for extended periods of time. It can get frustrating at times as you can't figure out what to do next, but thankfully there are many helps online if you get stuck. The graphics are very good, but similar from level to level. I also like that it's kid friendly and has a computer voice that makes funny sarcastic statement at the beginning and end of each level.

  • Portal 2 is the best of puzzle games mixed with action!

I still am playing the game. This game is much longer than the first Portal and much more enjoyable with tougher puzzles and new designs, with funny commentary throughout the game. It has a well-written and easily followed story line, with no need for a gamer to play the first game to know what is going on. Having the Steam code is a plus. It is like having the same game for two different platforms for the same price. And best of all, it has a new feature- co-op mode, which two people can enjoy solving puzzles WITH each other's help (as long as ur partner isn't your 4 year old brother who you have to do each part for). I happen to not enjoy violent video games, and that is way too hard to find in today's gaming world. I hate the gore and realistic gameplay (however I have enjoyed games ...

  • A brain teasing puzzle shooter with memorable charcters. SPAAAAAAAACE!!!!

Wonderful game!If you are like me and feel like you have to play the first game to get into this one don't feel that you have to. Playing this game well it stands out all on it own. A brain teaser shooter with a critcal, condescending, and cynical "watcher" Glados. Her sarcastic comments on your progression in the game will actually make you want to stop and listen to her berate and insult you. Her witty comebacks; if thats what you want to call them, are funny and will make this silent protagonist game sooo much more enjoyable. You get to feel Glados "grow" in a way and develop emotions which is odd for the Robot/Machine/AI thing that she is. The addition of the multiplayer is a great way to pass the time. Unless you are super smart partner or have a walkthorugh I'm sure you both will ...

  • Portal2 is inventive and enjoyable from the beginning to the end :)

I played the original Portal and fully enjoyed it. It was funny with excellent writing and mind bending puzzles. This sequel sticks to its roots but it adds several new twists to the core portal jumping gameplay. Here are some of those twists: blue goo (allows you and other objects to bounce), yellow goo (increases movement speed), white goo (allows you to put portals anywhere where sprayed), bouncing platforms, light bridges and levitation fields. The new additions are all very well thought-out and implemented together wrapping tightly into a cake of delicious gameplay. Pros: nicely done mind-bending puzzles, funny dialogue, improved graphics, nice lighting and fluid effects, longer than Portal 1, has co-op gameplay. Cons: short (I beat single player in about 6-7 hours) doesn't deliver ...
