Super impressed with this seller! They had the best price by far for this book! Both the cost of the book and the shipping fee was far better than average! The book came exactly as described, it was well packaged and quite a bit earlier than expected! The seller was polite and replied quickly to my messages. I’ll definitely make another purchase soon! Thank you to the seller! Be safe and keep up the great work!

WONDERFUL book! Better than described, in just like new condition [not just good]. Packaged very carefully, shipped very securely. Great seller, would buy from again in a heartbeat! No communication occurred, but I imagine it would have been as good as the rest of their customer service. Very happy with purchase, thank you very much!

  • Great book! Very well written

As an old Asia hand, every page had me nodding and saying "same in Korea!", "same in Japan!", or "been there done that!" This is a book written by a US Peace Corps volunteer who spent two years teaching English in a small college on the south bank of the Yangtze River. His experiences are well described, and you can see him converted from a fresh arrival to a knowing person over his two years. For instance, the thrill of realizing his comprehension of chinese character signs near his home. And the agony of struggling with a 2 or 3 day train ride in standing-room-only circumstances. A great read for any prospective Peace Corps volunteer. Also, for anyone planning to live in China as the Chinese do. I found it in a library, and am buying it for a Chinese professor friend of mine I'll ...

  • Book - River Town

Since I am going to China I have been reading everything I could about the country, history and people. This was an excellent book for learning about the people and to actually get a picture of the places along the Yangtze River. I could not find a copy of the book in the local book stores and the price was definitely RIGHT. Thanks.

  • Great

A must for anybody who is going to spend any time in China or who wants to understand the way things work and are evolving in China.
