Barbie makes her first appearance on the PlayStation console with a new equestrian action game published by Mattel Media. With Barbie Race & Ride, you can now choose, care for, and groom your own virtual horses. You can also initiate many activities, from inviting friends out for casual horseback riding to realistic racing and jumping contests. Compete against Barbie, friends, or the clock.<br><br>After signing in and setting up the game's options, including choosing a one or two-player mode, you choose the outfit Barbie will wear for the rest of the game. It's then off to the stables to select, name, feed, and groom a horse. Horses can be fed a variety of foods, including apples, carrots, strawberries, and sugar cubes.<br><br>Saddle up and let the adventure begin. Ride through the trails of Secret Valley to find places to race, timed obstacle courses, all sorts of animals, and many games and puzzles. Barbie Race & Ride features a variety of realistic outdoor environments and locales such as The Beach, The Forest, The Meadow, and The Mountains.<br><br>Trails and activities, including riding lessons, can be selected by visiting the Barbie Race & Ride Bulletin Board, the place where players can be changed and games can be saved. Barbie also needs help finding a postcard missing from the Bulletin Board. Find all the pieces of the postcard to reveal the way to the hidden Secret Ranch where a special surprise awaits!

    Loved this game as a child!

    My 5 1/2 year old loves it, Barbie directs which buttons to press to do certain actions, it has a riding tutorial before game play and Barbie reads the horses names a loud so parents don't have to! Great game! Do recommend if playing on a PS1 to use a tv with a smaller screen, the larger the screen the poorer the graphics only because the games were made for smaller screen, box televisions. Thanks again!

    Fun game, kind of short with bad graphics.

    I love this game, I can play it over and over again. Although, it is very short, and I'm not even a very good gamer. But, it is a wonderful fun game, something I would reccomend to anyone. It doesn't have very good graphics, but I still like it. It is kind of like the game Barbie Riding Club, that I have on PC, but this has worst graphics. It is one of the funnest games I have ever had, I just love the ending. I am not going to say the graphics are SO bad, since this game is from 1999.

    Good for 4-6 year old, slow for ages above.

    Definitely a cute game. I would say it is more at the speed of my 4 year old daughter than my 8 year old daughter. It gets a little slow in between riding and playing the games. Some of the games are quite challenging which is great. There is a nice variety of riding trails, and taking care of your horse is sweet (tack, bathing, feeding).

    Great game for my daughter to play on days when the weather is bad and she is inside the house. It keeps her busy and likes to play this game it is a great game for young children and it is easy to play. Thanks

    Great game for girls who love horses!

    I bought this game for my girls who love horses. Most of the games that we had for our Playstation 1 were more for boys, so they wanted something that they would like. My 8, 6, and 3 year old love it, and they can play it together or alone. It is very easy. The three year old can almost set it up on her own.
