About this product

Product Information

The 2008 release in Electronic Arts' high-mileage road-racing series, Need for Speed: Undercover is built on a revamped game engine with a dual focus: realistic sports car physics and accessible, empowering controls. Hundreds of components and systems are individually modeled on each automobile, for realistic acceleration, suspension, weight displacement, and handling, in any car and under any circumstance. The game features dozens of automobiles from the world's leading manufacturers, as well as real-life aftermarket parts, paint, vinyl, and other customizations.

The "Heroic Driving Engine" introduced in Need for Speed: Undercover aims to harness the game's realistic physics by condensing difficult, dangerous driving maneuvers into simple, button-press controls. Players perform 180s, 360s, burnouts, and instant reversals with the tap of a few buttons, and a fixed camera angle makes it easier to follow the action through spins and quick turns. It does not take stunt driver skills to drive like a stunt driver in Need for Speed. It still requires a stunt driver's spirit, however, with imaginative routes and daring maneuvers well rewarded, and a complete wipeout always one wrong turn away.

Undercover's single-player campaign is driven by a story that sends the player's character deep into an underground crime syndicate, using his driving skills to gain trust by performing jobs and wining street races around Tri-City Bay, the game's fictional, open-world setting. Much of the driving action takes place across wide, southern U.S. highways. The roads can fill up with randomly generated traffic and multiple, computer-controlled cop cars that work together to chase down crooks. Other game modes allow players to take the role of the fleeing suspect or the pursuing police in one-off levels and challenges. As many as eight players can go Undercover together online.

Seller was quick to communicate, very friendly, & chose shipping to get the item to me quickly - appreciated! Product was as shown, except for damage incurred during shipping. Similar to another reviewer who said the shipping packaging was less than expected for the item's safety, this (old plastic) was cracked & had a broken hinge & corner snapped off. Marked 'fragile', or put in rigid casing to prevent the crushing it took in the mail - would order again & ask to ensure approp. packaging.

  • Not Bad. . . But also not Great!

O.K. Here is the deal with this game. . . If you played Need for Speed “Most Wanted" game, that is the best it’s going to get. If you’re going to compare this game to "most wanted" you may be a bit disappointed. However. . . * "Undercover" is a total different story line, its good but not as great. * You start off with a descent car, so the races are not much challenging in the begining for experienced gamers therefore its more about following the game story line than avoiding being beat in a race. As the game progresses it does however get more challenging. * The Graphics are Awesome! The Cars are great! Very detailed overall. * The story line is a bit hard to follow in the beginning; you may have to give the game a chance to grow on you. However you will not be disappointed once it ...

  • Black Box forgot a spark plug or two. And an engine.

EA's Need for Speed franchise has been in an odd position the last couple years. While the franchise often worked to mix up the formula from year to year a decent bit, the release of EA's own Burnout Paradise posed a bit of a conundrum for the publisher. With Burnout switching to an open world setting, it meant that it competed directly with Need for Speed in that space. Last year's Need for Speed ProStreet was a diversion for the series from recent years, going to track-based racing, plenty of tuning options and focusing entirely on the events than exploring the city or running from the cops. ProStreet didn't turn out too well, so Black Box went back to the drawing board and returned to an open world setting with this year's Need for Speed Undercover, but that wasn't the only design ...

  • A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR NFS FANS

I am a fan of Need for Speed series and I have been loving this game since Most Wanted and Carbon.. I didn't really like it when ProStreet came out and I got even more disappointed with Undercover. First, I didn't believe why people have been badmouthing this game and I gave it a try, which I eventually would regret. Okay, so I have been playing all my games on my PS3 smoothly, with beautiful graphics, and glorious sound. One thing I really hate about this game is its bugs and glitches. The game is very laggy at times when you play it, very often that it starts to annoy you and you wouldn't blame the PS3 of course. And it is not because of the disc, cos I am buying it brand new. Then at times during racing, the scenery in front of you will be a clear sky like when you are going to go ...

  • Not The Best NFS

I don't really know what to say!! I really expected a lot from this game, especially starring characters been playing by well known actors (Maggie Q,ETC) but i was kinda disappointed, the game mode practically the same, one thing there is no save box , so when done something it stays and you can not load game back, for example if cops catch you enough your gone forever, and types of missions they all similar, cops still dumb enough to runaway it's just if get Chopper following you that could get you in trouble, there are no trophies in it!! another mines. i would give game 3.5 out of 5 P.S. yep in The beginning the game is exiting but after playing couple hours it gets boring!! Graphics 4 out of 5 Action 4 out of 5
