    APC Back-UPS - None Better!

    I have three of these - all purchased on eBay and two in service for a year. The APC Back-UPS Pro 1500MS (pure sinewave) is a good unit that provides good reliability. I replaced an unreliable Cyber Power 1500 sinewave model unit that would fully charge good batteries, but eventually would shut completely off during nonexistent power events, even affecting anything connected to its surge only outlets - despite having fully charged new batteries and a low load on its battery outlets. From Internet searches, this isn't all that uncommon of a fault with 1-3 year old Cyber Power units, and Cyber Power just recommends purchasing a new one in many of these cases - HA! The weight of the APC Back-UPS Pro1500MS is noticeably greater than the comparable Cyber Power 1500 unit - likely due to a ...

    Effective Short-Term Power Backup

    The 1000, 1350, and 1500 models are reasonably close in price, and according to the manufacturer's specs these models have the same physical dimensions. I therefore made the easy decision and just purchased the 1500 model. I'm supporting a pretty low-draw home office configuration with this UPS backup unit. All devices are plugged directly into a 10-outlet power strip -- which also happens to be marketed by APC. The power strip is then plugged into the the backup unit. My office configuration consists of: 1) an AT&T WiFi tower; 2) a desktop computer with free-standing monitor, printer, and speakers; 3) a laptop computer (with its own battery) connected to a docking station; and 4) two LED desk lamps. My handheld amp/watt meter tells me that this configuration pulls 210 watts. The APC ...

    Great to have to backup a television and computer

    I have had many a times where the power goes out unexpectedly and both my television and computer shut down abruptly with the DVR cutting off and files not saved on the computer. Well, that will be a thing of the past with this APC unit. It is reasonably priced, works great, and easy to set up. Very pleased with my purchase.

    simple easy to use and wire

    It's the perfect sized unit for most small computer to A/V set-ups I have been trying to BUY (4) MORE but have been met with resistance.     Reliable and efficient backup devices

    I've had several occasions to see the unit(s) in action. We've had several power outages this past month and several brown-outs (very unusual, bad weather plus careless driving knocked power out for my small rural community) each time both units went into action and completely shielded my home network and work computer from the outages. I had over an hour worth of backup on the unit protecting my computer, and one-hour and fifty minutes on the unit backing up my wi-fi router, and several peripheral devices. Thus far, I'm more than pleased with these units and would recommend them highly.
