The radiac can't drive standard headphones by itself. Being battery capable is a huge plus. I will eventually remove the Bluetooth module to extend battery life, but for now, works great. I also used the supplied cable to create a bnc to trs plug to use with the device set. If you are handy with electronics, the battery is easy to swap . Very low power though.
