Great, pro quality camera for those on a budget.
When I bought my Canon EOS 30D, I was completely new to the DSLR world. Having only shot with a DSLR twice in my life, I was quite confused as to which option to go with. I had been shooting high quality images with point-and-shoot cameras for about a year, but DSLR's were something else. I knew I liked Canon over other brands, due to personal preference, but ended up decidig on the 30D, due to it's stature as a pro-style camera, unlike the Rebel's. I have been shooting with it for about a month now, and have been very pleased. I am currently using an EF-S 18-55mm, and a Tamron 75-300mm. I have only noticed a little more softness than I like, but in general I feel I can capture shots with this that would compare to cameras that run in the thousands. Excellent body. If bought used, you can't beat the features for the price!
I have been looking to get into amateur photography for some time now. I really wanted a dSLR, but just couldn't afford a new one which goes for thousands of dollars. The Canon 30d was right up my alley. When I bought mine, they had already been around for about 5 years. This camera was around $1300 5 years ago, when new....so this camera has tons of features that many cheaper ($800) newer dSLRs don't even have. First off, Canon cameras come with their own software out of the box to run the camera tethered to a computer. Nikons do not have this for free, you have to pay $100 extra to get their software. The kit lenses that come with the Canon 30d is really nice. It's not professional L quality lens, but iis great for a beginner. I had this camera up and ... I had this camera up and running right out of the box and it takes excellent pictures. Some may think the 8.1 megapixel is a downside, but I like that the files aren't super large, so you can shoot more pictures for the memory space. Unless you are shooting for billboard prints, 8.1 mpx will be perfect for you. Pair this camera with a Canon Speedlight and you'll be taking professional pictures in no time. I bought a used 420ex speedlight for indoor bounce flash use. It's not the greatest speedlight, but I didn't want to spend $400+ on a new one. I don't plan on doing too much indoor shooting anyway. Onboard flash? YES! The 30d has an onboard flash which is super handy in a pinch. Many high end super expensive dSLRs don't even have this feature. I plan on picking up a aPuture intervalometer, a CowboyStudio wireless flash trigger, and a gray card (Lastolite?). For little money you can jump head first into the dSLR world and see if it's right for you. A bounceflash really makes your indoor pictures pop with little setup time. I recommend this camera to anyone. It can shoot high speed 5 frames per second, has the hot shoe for speedlights, USB tethering, and works with any Canon lenses...you can't go wrong!! Oh, don't forget you can also run a grip on it too, with two batteries for long life. Works great if you're taking super long exposures with an intervalometer

no problem with this camera
We use this camera at work in my office for pictures of client’s items. I have access to a 60d at work however for what I really do in my personal life this camera more than meets my needs. It takes great pictures and is simple to use. My kids can use it without fear of smashing my mega camera. I like most under utilize the technology at my fingertips and this camera more than meets my needs. ( the good price that these are at helps as well)We use this camera at work in my office for pictures of client’s items. Excellent product for the money and for any aspiring photographer.
I love using this camera it is easy to understand all the functions, feels great in your hands. I always enjoyed canon products especially the one made in Japan. It only has 8mp but I'm still happy with it.

This is my maiden camera in the DSLR field. I am looking forward to learning more than "point and shoot". So far, this seems like an amazing camera, packed with features, yet still easy to learn to use.
