About this product

Product Information

The "2K5" edition of Kush Game's Major League Baseball offers an array of options that seems designed to appeal to baseball gamers of all preferences. To start, the game offers two styles of play: the fast and forgiving "Video Game" mode, and the simulation-style "Pure Baseball Mode." Two pitching interfaces are offered as well, and at the plate, sluggers can choose "True Aim" or "Cursor Batting" systems. This year's edition also gives gamers a new level of control over base-runners, allowing them to call for lead-offs and steals with a flick of an analog stick, or even to take direct control of the runner as the computer bats for the player at the plate. As in years past, the game features teams, rosters, and stadiums based on the most recent season of Major League Baseball. Online play is supported for Internet-connected PS2 and Xbox Live gamers.

Though originally announced as "ESPN Major League Baseball 2K5," the sports network branding was dropped from the title when it was announced that competing publisher EA Sports had acquired exclusive use of the ESPN license in upcoming years. ESPN-style commentary and presentation are still featured in the game, however, even if not in its official title.

  • A fun game but frustrating cause of bugs.

Espn Mlb 2k5 is a fun game. It has new features like GM mode and will keep you entertained and wanting more. I have completed an entire GM mode season and have had a lot of experience with this game. Here is how I rate it. Game Play-8 The game play is great. You can make great diving catches you can plow over the catcher, all the things you want in a baseball game. The hitting is easy and fun and will keep you playing for hours on end. You can choose what type of slide you want to do into the base and you can even take out the second baseman on a routine double play. There are a few things wrong with this game though *The game freezes sometimes and will really tick you off. They have got to improve this or else many gamers won't want to play this because everyone who plays sports games, ...

  • ESPN does not make bad games

The title of this review is pretty much all you need to know, I guess it may be bias that I watch ESPN 24/7 and am a sports nut when it comes to both playing and the knowledge of sports stats. This game is brilliant, realistic in every aspect. There is one small issue I have with it though, sometimes when fielding like in Fenway for example the computer gives no chance to position the player to catch it either against the wall or off the wall so it's almost always an error and the ball drops to the warning track. Aside from that I love the game... BUY IT, don't waste money on EA Sports re-hashed games... they never do update them, just the players and the teams they play for not the actual game itself a real waste of money that goes for ALL EA Sports games not just baseball. So, BUY THIS ...

  • Fun, amazing graphics and easy to use

OK let me just say right up front, i have not played a video game since the 80s and those were arcade games, i have never played a home video game until now, i purchased a used PS2 unit here on ebay and picked up this 2k5 game cheap without the case or the book, i was afraid that i would not be able to figure it out with no book. I was wrong, if you know baseball and figure out that the instructions are actually on the disc there is no real need for the book, this game amazed me with it's graphics and ease of use for a novice like me, and it was very fun to boot. i would recommend this one to any baseball fan.

  • Best one yet

This game is the one of the best baseball games yet. there are many different modes if witch you can manage your own team, draft players , trade players, and bring your team all the way to the world series. The game is the most life like baseball game that I have ever played. Before the game you can set all the weather condishions. For example you can make it windy or rainny and many others. I hpoed this helped you.

  • Awesome game

    Great baseball game with ESPN
