Very light duty hi-hat
Lightweight, portable, great for combo jazz. Definitely not for hard rock or even regular rock. It seems insubstantial in a context like that. I don't know if this an American made product, and I don't know how long it will last-I just got it. We'll see!

Very flimsy, not sturdy
I was looking forward to a lightweight hi-hat, but this one is not solid. The connections are loose making the unit wobbly and the whole design is unstable. I have been playing drums for over 50 years, and have used many different hi-hats, and this is the shakiest hi-hat I've ever played on. If the manufacturer used a similar design as the old Slingerland or Ludwig hi-hats using aluminum they would have a better hi-hat.I was looking forward to a lightweight hi-hat, but this one is not solid. OK, it's super SUPER light weight, and THAT'S the purpose of everything here. If you're looking for something really sturdy, rock solid, heavy metal stuff and things like that, THIS ONE IS NOT FOR YOU. It won't take your 24" heavy rock ride for you to bash on it for all night long. This DW UL stand is for that gigging guy that carries your own material up and down to everyday's show, or tu use at home as a second and fixed set of hardware. It's for that small and packable drumset you have, for blues, jazz, pop, country and even rock styles (depending on the drummer). Sure it's not a 100% impecable. Hi-hat stand it's a little flimsy and wobbles a little, but keep in mind the PURPOSE i've mentioned here: LIGHT WEIGHT. As far as it goes, it's not bothering me at all.
