  • Fuller sound than Blueberry, a little smoother, cuts thru the mix

This mic has a fuller sound than the Blueberry and is better for baritone voices than the Blueberry. Blue mics are known for an up-front, colored sound, not neutral, and this fits in that category. The Blue mics I've owned are Baby Bottle, Blueberry and Mouse. They all give an aggressive, slightly harsh or brittle sound to the voice that is not unpleasing at all and may be great for some voices or styles. They do cut through the mix. There are two types of Mouse mics. The Royal Blue colored one, which has transformers, and the Black colored one, which is transformerless. I find the Royal Blue one better for vocals and the Black one better for instruments such as bass guitar. They only make the Black colored ones now, but they have a deadness in comparison. People report the Blue colored ...

  • Monster of a Mouse

This mic is always excellent to work with. It has a smooth sound, yet it can be edgy when you need it to. It is advertised to me most at home with bass frequencies, and while that is indeed true, this mic shines brilliantly on vocals and many acoustic instruments. I find that I am often looking to the Mouse more and more for what I do than any other of my mics. It is definitely worth the expense. The Omni Pattern Mouse, and even the Transformerless Mouse, may make their way into my studio soon after my experience with the most popular transformer version.

  • Vocal Mic

The Blue Mouse is a great vocal mic, response levels are very good and the ease of use is good for a beginner or less experienced tech. It is a bit heavy and the use of a heavy duty stand is necessary but over all a nice mic.
