Saves your cartridge stylus, pure and simple
Everyone complains it's too cheaply made and is not pretty, especially for how much it costs. First, it's not much money at all, especially compared to the option; ruining an expensive cartridge if you forget about it in the dead wax/runout. Second, its build quality. Well, it won't be left out in the weather, it won't be subjected to extreme vibrations or shock. It won't be lifting much mass at all. Third, many think it's ugly. If it bothers you, stick a bunch of sparkles and glitter all over it. So, plastic and thin bent sheet metal perform just fine for the intended purpose.Everyone complains it's too cheaply made and is not pretty, especially for how much it costs. Be very careful to measure between tonearm and platter
This, or any aftermarket automatic tonearm lifter does not fit "DJ" type tables or tables with a "domed" tonearm mount like any of the current Teac turntables. Although the Teac's are very nice, quality tables (most negative reviews are because the user it not acquainted with setting up or working with the " fine adjustments", like the platter speed trim pots. I had to grind down the ridge on each side of the Cueup and use my rotary tool to cut and grind out a section on the bottom to allow the Cueup to nestle over the lip of the dome mount. Then they trial and error (grind and check fit) I customized the base to fit and notvruub the platter or affect play. A lot of work on an expensive piece of plastic It now "works" but not any where near as good as it should. If you need an automatic ... Height of tone arm lift designed for high end turntables only.
This is well made but it is too tall from my turntable. I have a less expensive, audiophile turntable, but it does not feature as thick a plinth as the more expensive one. The item comes with several extension to increase its height but at the lowest setting it was still too tall. Curiously, more expensive turntables have tone arm listers built into their mechanism. One would think that this device would be built for the less expensive models that are more likely not to have a tone are lift or athematic return built in. It is useless to me. This is well made but it is too tall from my turntable. I have a less expensive, audiophile turntable, but it does not feature as thick a plinth as the more expensive one. Quick fix for the cueing of any manual turntable with little or no hassle at all.
I purchased this item for my Project 9 extension manual turntable. I occasionally find myself dozing off during my listening sessions. More than once I awoke to find the table spinning and the needle pushing off the LP label in the run out area. This is not the most expensive or best auto cue lifter, but it works well for the money and when correctly set up on your turntable will stop you needle from possible damage if you are away at the end of your disc. Has adjustments for height, and spring force for both the action and lifting arm. It is best to test fit this device on your table temporarily and choose a couple LP's with different size run outs. This way you can find the "SWEET" spot for the mounting permanently. Besides being able to adjust the height with supplied spacers, you ... The ptoduct does the job but it is so cheaply mase it should be a better made product but it is the one thats works with my turn table so i am satisfied with it a little bit more glue on the double faced tape would also be an improvement all in all it is doing the job
