About this product

Product Information

Starring Baby Mario and the cute (though voracious) dinosaur himself, Yoshi: Touch & Go translates the time-honored gameplay of the character's earlier exploits for use with the Nintendo DS' unique interface. Games begin with Baby Mario falling from the sky, as in Super Mario World 2, but players can help out by drawing clouds to cushion his fall and steer him toward bonuses and power-ups. Brave Yoshi traverses challenging platform-style levels, as in Yoshi's Story and other earlier adventures, but in Touch & Go, players guide him with the stylus and touch screen instead of D-pad and actions buttons.

  • Creativity at it's best for this system

Yoshi's Touch and Go makes most of what the Nintendo DS was made for. It is a game where you use your stylus on the touch screen to draw roads made out of clouds to guide Yoshi over pits and canyons. You can also use your stylus to attack enemies with Yoshi's eggs or you can even draw bubbles around your enemies to encase them and protect Yoshi from them. There's different game modes like Score mode, where you try to achieve a certain amount of points, or Marathon mode, where you try to make Yoshi go far as possible without getting attacked by and enemy. This will provide hours of gameplay to enjoy. Unfortunately, That's all it will provide. Once you beat Score mode or reach a certain amount of yards in Marathon mode, there's not much left to do. This game is a bit short for my taste, ...

  • Great Nintendo DS game overall but gameplay is short.

If you've ever played Yoshi's Island on the Super Nintendo or Game Boy Advance, you'll recognize the format of this game immediately. It's a side-scrolling game in which you exclusively use the stylus. Sounds annoying, I know, but it's one of the best implementations of a touch screen in a video game that I've ever seen. You draw lines of clouds that form ramps, bridges, steps, etc. that Yoshi can use to reach objects or avoid enemies and obstacles. Tap Yoshi and he jumps. Tap an enemy and he throws an egg at it. Circle an enemy or coin and it is encased in a bubble that you can drag over to Yoshi. The only complaint I have about this after playing it for about 4 hours is that the game is short. Once you master the first "level", other gameplay types are unlocked but even with those, ...

  • Really fun game!

I really enjoy this game because it utilizes the touch screen. This makes the game really interactive and more fun to play. The only thing I don't like about this game is that there are no levels, no bosses; there is no end to the game. The player just chooses from different modes. This makes the game somewhat one dimensional and it gets boring after a while. But other than that, it is a fun game when you are trying to beat your own record.

  • Great Game! Maybe challenging for some...

This game is pretty fun! Both my 8 year old and myself(37yrs) have played it. It plays on both screens for DS and a stylus to play the game. The object of the game is to guide Baby Mario and Yoshi through a course whil avoiding obstacles. It would work best if your touch screen is in great working order. I have some areas on my DS that are "touchy", so it makes its a little challenging to play. Overall it's a fun game, and could keep you preoccupied for a few hours...
