  • Great sub-$100 home studio recording mic.

This is a good inexpensive mic for recording. If you have only used dynamic mics than you will be surprised by the nuances a condenser mic can pickup. If you have used studio mics don't expect it to compare. It cannot pick up all the nuances (details of the sound) that more expensive mics can pick up. This is not always bad, if the environment is less then idea it will pick up less background noise than a better mic. Regardless, because it is a condenser, you need a quiet environment to record. Condensers are just sensitive and pickup sounds both far and near. For its price I believe it has a pretty natural sound, but again if you compare it to better mics ($400+) it will sound less smooth and more metalic. In its price range, I doubt there is much better of a mic. It is designed ...

  • All you need in one kit

I have mod'd 4 mikes with these kits. No issues. Yes, you might source the parts yourself, but if for me it was just easier to purchase them all in one package. You can hear the mikes on my soundcloud site. Search "Live with Me Mixed via Behringer XR18" (Can't post links.) The drums are a Kicker A55 on the bass and 2 MXL 603's overhead recorded via an Behringer XR18 and mixed downed by playing the tracks back through it.

  • I'd buy another one for the same price, no question

For an affordable condenser mic this gets the job done and then some. Less boom when recording acoustic guitar than other condensers I have used. Crisp across the range of my acoustic guitars. I have not used it for vocals but would expect it to perform equally as well. A great buy for the studio musician on a budget.

  • Good Mic

I bought this to match another one I've had for ages, so I could record my church choir. I have a Tascom DR-100MkII recorder and these mics work great with it. If you're looking for good mid-priced mics, you pretty much can't go wrong.
