I originally purchased for 399.95 adn now after I contacted seller and requested an update the order was cancelled and refunded with no response only to find the item relisted for 699.95!!!     Standard replacement that just works

    I recommend putting this new one in when putting in new alternator and AC belts. You'd have to get right tension measurements on the belts when done and you'll need to follow service manual steps if doing it yourself. I replaced the AC and alternator belts on a 99 Forester L (145K miles) and used this new pulley in the process. The old one seemed to have worn out and shows lots of resistance when rotating by finger. This new one seems lighter and slightly thinner so it's not close to the timing belt plastic cover as the old one was where it accumulated dirt. I also replaced the adjuster (73134AC001) which is not made of steel and can crack or break. You just need to kick out the shaft which goes through the old pulley, clean it and insert it into the new one.
