Hammer Production and Ingrid Pitt !!

THESE are two of the most entertaining movies Hammer Studio put together. INGRID PITT...such a delight to watch on screen. I love to watch these....never go wrong with Hammer. They knew how to make films...locations, great costumes...elaborate sets....great scripts....and a steady cast like Peter Cushing...and Christopher Lee. Forget the films they put together today...with computer generated...ghosts, shadows, and CGI green screen effects. Hammer studio always will be in my collection and an important part of movie experiences.

One movie is really good and the other really bad.

The vampire lovers is a very good movie, good acting, amazing storyline and just a well made movie. I enjoyed every minute of it, easily worth a full 5 stars, but countess dracula was the complete opposite honestly i dont understand why these two movies were even placed together. Countess dracula doesnt even have vampires in it? Its about a queen who baths in young womens blood to look young. Boring storyline, terrible acting and nothing to do with vampires or blood drinking, its only worthy of one star, i dont recommend this movie to anyone.

  • Some Ingrid Pitt anyone?

I ordered the films for research purposes, not necessarily for entertainment and certainly not because I'd heard great things. To be honest, I'd only read about either--even Hammer films in general--as a result of research texts, not through picking off a video rental shelf or recommendation (although, after mentioning them to, among others, my parents, I was told that, in their time, they were considered 'great' cinema among their fans). This isn't to say that they don't have value or that they're entirely un-worthwhile, just that they're not something I would have chosen. As far as quality goes, they're good enough. Vampire Lovers is relatively close to the story Carmilla (closer than any others purporting to the title) despite its ...

  • A double feature for Halloween

How can you beat a movie with vampires for Halloween? Well, how about two vampire movies? I’ll be ready when Halloween comes.

  • No classic but still likable

No classics like earlier Hammer films but both are likable and engaging nonetheless. Definitely worth the price I paid. Finally got to see the parts that were cut from the TV version!
