    Sweet and sour

    I own or have owned several flashes that are comparable, Canon, Metz, and now Sigma. This flash has the worst build quality, but is also by far the cheapest. I'm not saying the build quality is horrible, its just not as nice, kinda like comparing a L lens to a kit lens, both are good, but L's just feel better. This flash is supposedly a copy of the Canon 550 EX (ironicly my sigma super is replacing my 550 ex because I could buy a sigma super for less than I could fix the 550 ex. The Sigma doesn't do ratios between master and slave as a masterwith 2 speedlites, canon 550ex's do. To use ratios you must have 3 speedlites. The Sigma will not remember how you had it set previously, pretty annoying, also the sigma will not automaticly revert to hi speed sync mode if you shutter speed drops ...

    Good Flash

    This flash is great with just two flaws. One is that the flash has just a little wobble when it is mounted to the camera. the other is that you need to make sure that every time you turn on your camera you go to the camera menu and select ADI flash. This will help with concistancy as I noticed that sometimes the exposure would be off till I manually selected ADI. Other than that for the price you will be thrilled. The built in diffuser works perfect for fill flash and the bounce flash make natural looking photos taken indoors. buy it if you can!

    Lots of features for the money

    I trust Sigma brand since I found out about their lenses´s quality matching or sometimes exceeding some other brands such as Canon and Nikon. At first, Sigma was conceived by photographers as the guys who built generic equipment for other more solid brands, but that has changed recently due to the development Sigma has been getting into. They have established themselves as a solid developing brand on the market. This flash is no Sigma´s exception. It doesn´t feel as sturdy as Nikon´s or Canon´s flagship models indeed, but this will get the job done. It has the features I need and works flawlessly. One of my best purchases in photo equipment for sure.

    Sigma EF-530 DG SUPER TTL Flash for Canon

    It proforms asgood as the Canon 580, BUT more than 1/3rd the cost. GREAT if you are not a pro, and/or do not use it all the time.
