About this product

Product Information

Every weekend, in the basements and parking lots of bars across the country, young men with white-collar jobs and failed lives fight each other barehanded. It's the invention of Tyler Durden, and it's only the beginning of his plans for violent revenge on an empty consumer-culture world.

  • This is a book ... and it ends one page at a time.

I watched "Fight Club," the film, and was mesmerized by it. When I found out it started with a book, I had to have it, but was filled with a sort of polarizing anxiety. Will the book betray the characters and quotes I'd grown to love? Would the premise even be slightly the same? Turns out, the book was incredible. Although there are some major and minor differences between the film and the novel, they both hold their own. If you loved the film, chances are you'll love the book as well. It's worth buying. The writing is flawless, yet raw. The author is truly a treasure of our time in a time where treasures are few and disillusions are, unfortunately, many. It's definitely one for every bookcase.

  • Epic Novel!

Like many, I had heard of the book "Fight Club" after seeing the movie. As soon as I found out that it was based on a novel, I remember thinking to myself; How could this be a book? Is that even possible? The movie alone was so unbelievable that if it were done wrong, it would've been a horrible mess. But it was done just right, and the results were amazing. That worried me, because I absolutely LOVED the movie. It's one of my favorites. The book was COMPLETELY different from the movie, and not in a good way. I was hesitant at first, but about a year or two ago I decided to give it a shot. And am I ever glad that I did. "Fight Club" is an outstanding novel. The writing is so refreshing and shows us the mind of a promising new author, Chuck Palahniuk. This was his very first novel, and I ...

  • Fight Club

First rule of fight Club. Your not suppose to talk about Fight Club. I'm about to break that first rule. An Insomniac narrator who never gives his real name tries to find out what he's alive for. His doctor refuses to prescribe him meds and suggests he participates in support groups. He cries and pretends he has the diseases everyone else has and learns to sleep once again. Another "faker" starts to take part in the same support groups and keeps the poor narrorator from crying. He once again forgets how to sleep. He searches for something more and soon runs into Tyler Durden, the solution to all his problems. This book was amazing. I definatly reccommend it. I bought it because my best friend loves Chuck Palahniuk. Fight Club was the only book she didn't own and I decided I needed to own ...

  • The book is as good as the movie!

Ok, I really like the movie, "Fight Club", that is based on the book by Chuck Palahnuik with the same name. If you're like me, I usually read a book and after seeing the movie, I think "The book was so much better than the movie" and most of the time, this is true. I think this time the book complements the movie. The style of writing used, the chronological order of events, and the thoughts of the characters in "Fight Club" the book are very disjointed and irregular. This was not an easy read for me, but as I said before I really liked the movie... The book is well worth the effort to read it. I can tell that alot of effort was made to make the movie more easy to understand by filling in gaps intentionally left in the book. I highly recommend "Fight Club".
