About this product

Product Information

From the depths of a cave in the Vermilion Sea, Ramon Salazar has wrested a black pearl so lustrous and captivating that his father, an expert pearl dealer, is certain Ramon has found the legendary Pearl of Heaven. Such a treasure is sure to bring great joy to the villagers of their tiny coastal town, and even greater renown to the Salazar name. No diver, not even the swaggering Gaspar Ruiz, has ever found a pearl like this! But is there a price to pay for a prize so great? When a terrible tragedy strikes the village, old Luzon's warning about El Diablo returns to haunt Ramon. If El Diablo actually exists, it will take all Ramon's courage to face the winged creature waiting for him offshore.

I received the "The Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark" book on 8 December 2023 early within the original eBay estimated delivery date of 7-12 December 2023 tightly wrapped in a poly mailer slightly different than the listing page description with some damage to the spine and pages of the book. After messaging the seller I was generously refunded 50% of the book price. The book is intact with full content. This seller made extra efforts to make this a satisfactory purchase. Thank You!

  • A boy who longs to prove himself a man

Some of Scott O'Dell's works are great, some are standard, and some are not worth the time. I was disappointed in this one. The plot is okay I guess, but it seems to lack anything very substantial, and is full of superstition. It tells the story of a son who goes into the pearl business with his father in La Paz, California. Nettled by the boasts of an employee, a pearl diver, he believes if he can find a pearl of gigantic proportions, he will be a man. In his father's absence, Ramon abandons his responsibilities, and convinces an Indian man who has sold them pearls to teach him to dive for them. He learns to search for pearls, but the Indian warns him away from a certain cave, where he believes the Manta Diabla resides. He tells Ramon that the pearls in that cave are the Manta Diabla's, ...

  • Great book....

I remember reading this book as a child, and loved it. I recently bought this book for my 9 year old, and I'm sure he will enjoy it too. Good, easy read for an elementary school-aged child!!! Nice adventure to the story as well!!!
