About this product

Product Information

The fourth game in the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is a 3D fighter for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3). Also released for the Xbox 360 and known in Japan as Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast, the game has a solid following among fans of the anime and manga Super Saiyan action fighting franchise. The game was developed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 by Spike and published by Namco Bandai. Take control of your favorite Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) characters in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, choosing from a wide selection that includes Goku, Burter, Cell, Dodoria, Gogeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Saibaman and Super Saiyan alternates, along with unlockable characters such as Captain Ginyu, Frieza, Janemba, Jeice, Trunks and Vegito. The game has a distinctive visual style that remains faithful to the recongizable style of Dragon Ball Z alongside immersive 3D environments. Battlefields are satisfyingly destructible during combat, enhancing the sense of raw power and dynamic action with the Impact Break system, which allows players to leave craters in the ground and Kamehameha tracers across the sky as they battle opponents and project energy blasts. Controls have been streamlined for Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi on the PS3, making the game more accessible to a wider range of players while retaining the strategic dimension of its predecessors. A health recovery system also enhances the gameplay. In the Story Mode of Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, players progress through an immersive experience of the Dragon Ball universe, encountering and playing as iconic characters such as Goku and Vegeta in a range of settings that will be familiar to fans of the franchise. A free-roam style of gameplay allows players to explore the world at leisure. Combined with scenes from the anime, along with animated boss scenes, this promises an experience of the Dragon Ball world like no other. Travelling from one Story Objective to another as a playable character, players learn more about this universe and its inhabitants. Outside of the game’s engaging battle system, there are several other ways to interact with the world and other characters. As Goku, for instance, players can traverse the world on the Nimbus Cloud or go accompanied by a second character such as Piccolo while fighting characters like Vegeta and Gohan. Players are also often challenged to flee from rather than battle opponents, who may also project Ki Blasts after them. In the Hero Mode of Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, players are given the opportunity to create their own character from scratch. Choosing from a range of bodies, facial features, hair, attire, voices and fighting styles, players can enter the Dragon Ball universe to free-roam as an all-new addition to the world. Hero Mode missions follow the same basic template as those of the Story Mode. For the first time, custom characters can also be used alongside favorites like Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi’s Tournament Mode – a World Martial Arts Tournament with the capacity for up to 16 battle competitors and a slightly more limited level of environmental destruction. Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi features a Japanese voice script and a soundtrack, in-keeping with the series, that includes tracks such as Cha-La Head-Cha-La, the iconic opening theme to most episodes of DBZ. This PS3 game is a solid installment to the franchise and a must-have for collectors of the Super Saiyan series of video games.

Seller offered a 10% discount, which was welcome. The item arrived on time (Complete in box with manual) as shown. The cover art, manual & Blu-ray disc are in very good condition as shown & as described. The Blu-Ray disc plays perfectly without any issue. It came in a thin plastic sheet, not a bubble envelope. The box was a little bit broken at the bottom, this wasn't mentioned in the listing but it isn't terrible so I can live with it. A positive experience overall as everything else was fine.

    Summoned a great dbz game!

This game is basiclly rock, paper, and Scissors. Easy to play and has great graphics and style! This is one is for the the DBZ fans!

  • This game could’ve been better

Combat is like rock, paper, scissors there’s no skill in this game whatsoever. It’s the same story from previous dbz games and not to mention the lack of character selections. The graphics are it’s literal highlight and probably the best in any dbz game ever even till this day. This game took a huge step back and made previous mistakes like lack of character selection and odd combat. Dbz BT3’s character selection was enormous and exactly what fans wanted. The story is the same but at least it was fun to play in every way possible but for this game I’d give it a 4/10

  • The game is very good and the graphics are much better than other DBZ games

It's a really good game and a smart buy. I bought this game because my sister and I really like to play Dragon Ball z games and out of all the games we have played, this game is by far the best. The main features of this game are a story mode, completing the whole story of DBZ: a hero mode where you can create a character: a multiplayer mode: and a training mode( which is very useful). My main problem is not a big issue but when you're playing hero mode, you have to avoid a lot of battles because over 3/4 of the battles are worthless. DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi is a really good game and is better than Raging blast 2, which may have more characters but Ultimate Tenkaichi takes the cake because the graphics and overall gaming experience are newer and more exciting. Hope this helps your ...

  • Good Game.

The game is great though it lacks CaC transformations only going as far as Super Saiyan I enjoyed getting to play it none the less.
