    Honorable collectors edition

This is my favorite collectors edition of any game! Has an awesome poster and a badass art book! Well worth the value and the wait! It needs to be added to your game collection ASAP!

  • Portrait offers more of the same classic gameplay

Find the entire review @ http://gnadegames.blogspot.com/ Castlevania is an epic video game franchise and each new iteration is a solid entry into the series (minus the 3D ones). Almost every Castlevania fan points to Symphony of the Night as the pinnacle of the series, though Aria of Sorrow or even Dawn of Sorrow both approached excellence. For me the two best Castlevania games were Symphony of the Night for Sega Saturn (yes I had that obscure system) aka Nocturne in the Moonlight and Circle of the Moon for GBA. Circle of the Moon is by no means the best GBA Castlevania, but it did surprise me, impress me, entice me…and ultimately sold me on the Gameboy Advance as a system. Well, I should probably add Portrait of Ruin to that list because although it doesn’t feel as new and great as the ...

  • Almost as enjoyable as SYMPHONY of the NIGHT...almost

Well, I gotta say that KONAMI really almost went overboard(in a good way)with this new Castlevania. They really brought out alot of the old, touched it up, and mixed it in with the new. This game is a must-have for any Castlevania fan(especially if you've been a fan since the 1st one back in the late 80's). The game was almost complete in every aspect, but for me, went by just a bit too fast. Sure there are other modes and what not to open after completing the game, but that with great gameplay and great sidescrolling graffix was still just not perfect; which is the reason I'm rating it a 4 instead of a 5(like Symphony of the Night). Personally, the game could've used more different types of weapons and armor, etc... Also, I wish they didn't make it to where you ...

  • Great addition to an already great series

This brings the usual elements that a contemporary castlevania game have with some great ideas, mainly the dual main characters, and the separate themed "castles". As usual, stats fans will have a field day customizing their inventory, but to a casual player, there's a lot of fun here, with a very interesting take on the Castlevania story

  • Final piece to the set

Portrait of Ruin was the last of the DS Castlevania games I needed CIB, this copy is in really good shape and plays beautifully, and filled a hole in the collection that had been escaping me for ages, for a reasonable price ! It was packed very securely in multiple layers of bubble wrap and shipped quickly and safely. Very pleased with this purchase.
