  • My pond shield experience

The mixing of the three ingredients was simple enough. But I had a lot of brush work (ie:cutting in corners) so when they instruct you not to mix more product than you can use in 30min that was no doubt meant for rollers because my 1st batch started to go off in less than 20min and when it starts it unuseable in about 3min. So I recommend to do your rolling 1st then your brush work. Also; and this is a big one, IF your applying to a wood surface, round off all edges. Any 90deg corners and the product tends to pull away as it tries to self level, leaving the edge with a very thin to even unprotected surface. This issue has a hard time overcoming even after second, third and fourth coats and in some cases I had to use silicone to ease my mind. Other than that, this is a great product, and I ...

  • Difficult Product

Purchased this product but didn't realize at the time that it should only be used on bare concrete et cetra if you want it to stick and not peel off. Also a very small window of time to work with the product in applying it (max 30 minutes). I purchased to repaint a fountain where the paint was peeling off. I spoke to an owner of the company who said "if you want to have any success you need to sand down the entire area where the epoxy will be applied". That would have been quite a bit of work for the possibility it may not take. Purchased a gallon of pool paint at half the price (Home Depot) and it was easier to work with and clean up (water). With the epoxy everything used to apply it would need to be thrown away. For the right application I'm sure it would be good but if you have less ...
