Day Of The Dead B5 Style
I picked up this trade PB mainly out of curiousity. I've been a "Babylon 5" fan from the initial pilot back in '93 and have enjoyed Neil Gaiman's work over the past few years since I first read "Neverwhere" a few years ago. (To be honest, I still haven't read "Sandman" but I did enjoy his take on Marvel's Eternals characters.) Gaiman's take on the B5 universe isn't all that different from Joe Straczynski's. Matter of fact, I never noticed this was not a Straczynski script when I initially watched the series or even on the DVD set. Gaiman, like Straczynski, has an almost mythic way of expressing the vastness of time and of space - something lacking in too much SF, written or filmed. One thing I love about this is actually watching the episode while following the script to see where ... I picked up this trade PB mainly out of curiousity. The book includes the script with none of the final cuts done during production. And it has several footnotes by Gaiman explaining some bit of prose or just adding some background trivia to a scene. And that is the only real complaint I have for the book. I would've loved more of his footnotes or even a forward/epilogue where he could talk about the show & his experience there. But, if you are a fan of B5 or Neil Gaiman, I doubt you will be disappointed with this book. I wasn't.

Great Gift for Bab 5 Fan
A wonderful gift for fans of either BAbylon 5 or writer Neil Gaiman. These annotated scripts were not available in print for long and provide lost of extra insight into the thought of both writer and prducer.
