    Gettysburg

    Bad choice to write a review about. I bought this item for a friend who is a civil war buff, but I am sure he will enjoy it. I often find something on Ebay that I think will appeal to one of my friends and buy it as a gift for them. Still very disappointed with Ebay for allowing items to constantly be listed in wrong catagories. I spoke to someone at Ebay several weeks ago and was led to believe that I would be contacted regarding the matter. So far no response from Ebay ! One of the main things I collect is "German Beer Glasses", you have a specific catagory for that. I am tired of finding items that don't belong there,ie; Roemer Wine glasses, shot glasses, non-German glasses, etc. You need to do a better job of policing what goes into the catagories or why bother at all.     "Gettysburg" TNT(Ted Turner) Film, 1994

    Award winning history-drama: Tom Berringer and Martin Sheen give outstanding performances. Complaint: I wish they would have given more exact subtitles for who/ what/ and when. For Example, Longstreet talks to a wounded friend in the hospital (I believe that this guy represents John Bell Hood, who lost the use of one of his arms at Gettysburg). There is a tendency to drag out personal speeches and soldiers talking ( Chamberlain tells of the "divine spark" in man-this is emotional and moving,but one has to go out for a break after some of this.Enjoyed this, watch it repeatedly after some time has gone by.

    Am a Civil War buff, and this movie was great in authenticity and action. Will watch again soon!!

    Good acting, bad special effects.

    This movie has its ups and downs. the acting is great but the battles are fake. People just run up to each other and hold their guns against the opposing armies, also you can obviously tell its not real guns. Also this movie is nearly 4 hours but if your a civil war buff you will enjoy this film.

    GETTYSBURG VHS

    We wanted this great movie on VHS because we have had so many problems with DVD skips, etc. The VHS was terrific. And no one can help but be moved by this great movie, regardless of which side ones family may have supported. And the movie follows its source, "Killer Angles" closer than any other movie we have viewed. A must have for Civil War students.
