GONG LI !! LOTS OF HER ! HURAAY!!!
BUY this Movie, but first off, my rating of good instead of excellent because, some of the chinese editing, (which may seem weird too us here in the western world) this editing stays on certain shots longer than we would, because they are giving you time to reflect. This method seems sluggish, and may put some of you off. Having said that, This movie is an art film and is wonderful, it's pure asian, it also has Gong Li a feast for the eyes, along with four women under different roofs in the same compound. Set in the 1920's these woman manipulate and plot for the masters affection, in a way that is very interesting. This is the heart of the movie, who will the master sleep with? judging by how the day goes, and who has out plotted who, the placement and lighting of the red lantern at ...
