I'm glad I was able to find this in Region 1 format. The package condition was fine, and it was well protected in shipment. But those price tags slapped directly on the skipcase and on one of the disc cases...ugh. *Why* do people do this? I remember the TV show when it first aired back in '74. It's always the coolest thing when you're just a kid. I'm fifty-grumble now, and I see the *earnestness* of the production. Still, it's good to reconnect with what was probably my first franchise love.

For those of us lucky enough to know our Asian friends make the BEST action films, this is an old standby......If you're not in that camp, check this epic out and become a believer! Chow Yun-Fat under the direction of John Woo made the stuff of legend, between this picture and HARDBOILED, I can't say which is greater............Lotsa heart, lotsa energy, lotsa bullitts, lotsa bloodshed, BUT, never a dull moment. Truly an action cinema masterpiece, I can't recommend this highly enough.For those of us lucky enough to know our Asian friends make the BEST action films, this is an old standby......If you're not in that camp, check this epic out and become a believer! One of John Woo's best films, indeed.
The movie is about a professional assassin with a morale conscience and a rugged cop on his trail who comes to respect the man he's after. I do believe that the ending could have been done better though. Still, really good action movie from an action director.

John woo's "The Killer" is a story about an hired assassin who injuries a bystander while on the job. Feeling bad, the assassin cares for the bystander, while trying maintain his assassin lifestyle which ends up not working out like planned. It's a decent movie if your into nostalgia asian action movies from the late 80's.
