A wonderful book, an member of the LDS Church should have.
Anyone who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and is over 30 knows who Bruce R. McConkie was. FYI, he was an esteemed elder in the Church, who wrote this book with the approval of the First Presidency. This book has long been noted by the members of the Church as a reference book that should be in every home. The book has been out of print for many years. When I found it, I didn't care, within reason, how much I would have to bid, to get my hands on it! Quintesential study guide...
The author states that this book is NOT cannized doctrine, but useful for research and study. In that light, it is of great value. The book is not longer printed, which is surprising, but at the same time, not. The reader should have a sound understanding of the LDS Church and the basics of its doctrine before venturing into the pages of this volume. I personally have found several topics in this book that were either short on information, or just wrong. I still feel that it should be a part of any scholarly LDS library.The author states that this book is NOT cannized doctrine, but useful for research and study. In that light, it is of great value. The book is not longer printed, which is surprising, but at the same time, not. The reader should have a sound understanding of the LDS Church and the basics of its doctrine before venturing into the pages of this volume.
