Love this Japanese iron--but use a stepdown transformer for safe use in the US
This Panasonic dry iron NI-A66-K is a wonderful dry iron. BEWARE, this is a 100 volt appliance made for use in Japan! If you are in the United States (and most anywhere else in the world) you need a step-down voltage transformer to safely use this iron. You do not want to burn your house down! I have a step-down transformer to convert from 100 volt Japan volt to US 110-120 volts. This iron is great, well made and lightweight. I sew a lot and have tendonitis problems, so this iron is ideal. I have always used a steam iron, but NEVER use the steam function as it decreases the life of the steam iron and I sprinkle my fabric with water to produce steam. Also as this is a dry iron, there are no holes, making this Panasonic dry iron easy to clean. It glides over fabric like a dream with ... This Panasonic dry iron NI-A66-K is a wonderful dry iron.
