About this product

Product Information

A father's tireless search for a cure to his disease-stricken daughter is the basis for this original action role-playing game from Square Enix. Joining the titular protagonist in his noble pursuit are various allies with distinctive abilities. Together they will attempt to locate the source of the disease, known as the Black Scrawl, and in the process, hopefully discover the antidote. Working against them are an assortment of dark creatures that must be overcome using a combination of steel and magic. As Nier earns experience by slaying monsters, he will gradually acquire new spells and combat moves to add to his formidable arsenal.

Hidden Gem among Square Enix games
This is definitely not your classic Square Enix turn-based game nor is it your more so family-friendly action RPG like Star oceans no this game is more akin to the original series drakengard back in the days of old but is that a bad thing absolutely not this game has replay value multiple endings a great combat system tons and tons of sidequest and much more to offer. Awesome game, and if you like action RPG, you will like this one.
The game is great, although it can use some polish. Gameplay: For an RPG game, its a short game but with sidequests, collecting weapons, items and new game+ for different endings can last a good 90+ hrs. Battle system is great, where you can fight with pysical attack or magic. There aren't different elements in magic but it comes in different attacks and deffence. with many different type of magic attack, one most likely end up using 2 or 3 of them. the down part is you have to precisely target you enemy or you will end up missing them. this can be bit annoying, but once you get the hang on it, you will be missing less targets. Storyline is good and catchy but in some place they overdid it with emotional part of the story such as sadness. the basic line is in a tough time when everyone is ... Sound: Dialog are great between characters and game music is wonderful. the game is like action RPG, and if you like such game, you will like this one. there isn't huge varieties in the game such as optinal bosses or areas. So if you just play the story line, the game can take up to 10-18hrs but if you going to collect everything for trophies and such, it can take up to 100hrs. but its wonderful game, atleast try it out.

It might not look great and combat is a bit clunky at times, but the designs in this game are amazing. The graphics are a bit lacking and the gameplay is slower than most may be used to. Once I got past those minor gripes, I found a very charming game with a strong attention to detail. Combine that with the great characters and the mystery that slowly starts building up and you have a incredibly engaging game.It might not look great and combat is a bit clunky at times, but the designs in this game are amazing. The graphics are a bit lacking and the gameplay is slower than most may be used to. Once I got past those minor gripes, I found a very charming game with a strong attention to detail.
