    Tight!

Way tighter, stiffer than my other vintage tuners of this type. I like that though. I'm sure they'll loosen up a bit with time.. meanwhile the stability feels very assuring, and they are incredibly stable. Installed on an Allparts strat neck, the big headstock maple 7.5 radius one. (Great neck btw) Had to do slight reaming of front of headstock holes, back side fit perfectly.

Not as good as the fender version

I purchased a fender vintage set for a build. It did not have the right bushing sizes so I had to buy additional bushings from 3rd party. For the next build I went with this item because it has the true vintage spec bushing sizes. Unfortunatley the tuning machines are not nearly as smooth as the fender ones. They feel like there is dirt in them. Their resistance is not steady. Hard to describe. They feel cheap and they were not cheaper than the real Fender ones. Next time I probably go with the Kluson ones.

  • Gotoh vintage tuners, excellent.

Excellent tuners. Bushings had a little play when placed in holesbut a thin strip of tape wrapped around them took a slack and tuners themselves fit perfect. No mods needed.

  • Gotoh Vintage strat tuners

I had neck that was drilled for vintage tuners and I decided I wanted to keep it that way while upgrading the quality over the tuners that came with the neck. These are quite nice, close inspection shows good clean metalwork and plating. Installation was easy in my case, however bushing type tuners require a lot of care to install - especially to make sure the bushings are perfectly seated and straight in the headstock. These are pretty smooth tuners. One of the 6 is just very slightly rough compared with the others, but I think there's a good chance it will smooth out over time. The gear ratio is 15:1 so pitch changes happen quickly while turning the knobs, quicker than say any 18 0r 19:1 tuner, so a bit of a light touch is required to be precise. Good quality, vintage style tuners ...

  • Good quality

These tuners seem to be good quality, especially at this price point. All six have an equal resistance; no loose ones, none super stiff. Only complaint is they look too new on my 80’s MIJ tele! I should have went for vintage aged nickel.
