About this product

Product Information

Obscure: The Aftermath is the M-rated sequel to 2005's high-school horror title. The storyline takes place two years later, with the surviving teenagers attending college to put their troubled pasts behind them. If only it were that easy. Strange black flowers have suddenly appeared on campus, and their powerful pollen has hallucinogenic properties. The flower's seeds are even more potent, infesting the peaceful town of Fallcreek with a sinister evil. No strangers to horror, the students plan on arming themselves with whatever weapons they can find to confront the misshapen mutants and save the town.

Baseball bats, hockey sticks, crossbows, tasers, submachine guns, and other armaments can be used to battle enemies. Each of the six playable characters brings distinct skills to the group, from moving heavy objects to hacking computers. Viewed from a third-person perspective, the action primarily involves fighting enemies and solving puzzles with two characters at a time. Players can freely switch between the two to take advantage of certain abilities, or a friend can join in for cooperative play. Obscure: The Aftermath's atmospheric soundtrack was performed by the Boston String Quartet and the Paris Opera Children's Choir.

  • Gameplay has several drawbacks, but i personally enjoy it

I have yet to play the first in this series, so I'm clueless about the continuation here (other than what I've read). GRAPHICS: Personally I think they're fairly decent for a wii game (there could be better, but it's nothing to complain about in my opinion). My biggest complaint is that it is often SO DARK in the game that I can't even see what I'm (trying) to hit. It's really annoying. GAMEPLAY: The fighting style is sort of typical for a mostly melee-based game. While you have several guns, the ammo is extremely limited, so you're basically left with melee weapons like a golf club or bat. I personally enjoy using the wii remote to wack monsters at all sorts of different angles, but the melee weapons do little damage and you die pretty quickly ...

  • Not the best but not the worst

Let's face it if you've stumbled upon this game it isn't because your wanting to play a classic game you will never forget. The best thing I can compare this game to is the reason you watch Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm street movies, to be cheesily entertained. One thing I must warn is that the camera angles are awful especially when playing multiplayer. But if you can look beside that it is an entertaining game, even more with multiplayer. This is basically an average game with average graphics and bad camera angles but it amused me. Sometimes you just feel like picking up a game without an intense storyline and just get soem qucik action in. So if you don't mind a cheesy storyline and just looking to pick up a game to play with someone this game might be ...

  • Below average, but worth it.

THE GOOD: New spin on the same old tired Resident Evil formula. Each character has a special ability (strenght, acrobatics, lockpicking, decyphering) which you will need to use to progress through the game. You'll be able to switch between 2 players through out the game and you'll be able to swap out partners as the mission dictates. THE BAD: The graphics are second generation, but that's to be expected from the Wii. If you've played a FPS on Wii before, then you know how ackward the controls are. There are lockpicking scenes in which you will need to move the Wiimote towards the TV. It took about 2 hours of trying before I figured it out. It's hard to aim and lock on a target. Movement is equally ackward. There is almost zero ammo in the game. The monsters are few and boring. Your ...

  • It's ok...

Honestly this game wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought it would have been a little more exciting at certain moments or at least make me jump a smidge. The trailer made it look so great. I was thinking maybe it might be something close to a resident evil style game, but I thought wrong. The game would be better if it didn't make me dizzy with all the spinning around that goes on. That factor alone makes me want to just resell it. Other than that i'd say its better played as a two player game. The story line is ok and the graphics and gore are decent for what it is. But then again I have only played it for a total of maybe 3 days, so this is purely based on what I have played up until this point.

  • Like resident evil but still great

At the beginning of the game this cheesy 90s theme starts playing I just love that cuz it takes me back the whole prologue thing is cheesy but gives homage to the first one who led saying it's not over u know lithe graphics are good if not great the story's ok a bit cheesey but by far I highly recommend it
