Great Reel!
GREAT REEL! All the bearings are ball bearings everywhere they are needed. Great size for me. Very smooth & lightweight. Perfect on a 5'6" rod or a 6.0' rod either one. I use it for pan fish & catfish. Anyone wanting a great reel for big catfish I'd use the 33 Max Platinum but I like the smaller size of this reel. I did respool it with 14# Trilene XL.

It’s definitely not very smooth reeling and about every ten cast the line hangs up inside. I understand it’s not a real expensive reel but for only using it for two afternoons on a lake, I expected a little better quality. I would not recommend this reel for anyone, not even a kid. I have an older zebco 33 classic I bought when I was eleven and am now 40 and am still using it, but this new reel is Chinese junk simply put It’s definitely not very smooth reeling and about every ten cast the line hangs up inside. My Favorite Reel
I've been fishing with spin cast reels for 50 years and have tried them all. This particular year model is super smooth, casts great, and has a pretty good drag system for a spincast reel. I've bought multiples of this reel from this vendor because I prefer this older model to the new version so I'm stocking up on them while they are still available. They made the line release hole too small on the new versions which doesn't cast as well for me. Like the soft touch dual handles too. I'm retired and use mine five days a week, and they hold up better than any other. When they get totally worn out, I give them a quick dip in the water before using and get quite a bit more life out of them.
