    A Horse on the Merry-Go-Round........

    Robert Montgomery directed this 1947 Film Noir, way before people knew what the term meant. The script, characters, location scenes and sets are well done and set a very good mood for someone visiting a small New Mexico town during a Fiesta. The film has strong elements such as the Merry Go Round, which would also be successfully used in an Alfred Hitchcock film, and many other elements that would be seen in later films in this category or genre called Film Noir. The feeling of an uneasy Post World War II America is well felt in this film, even with the Greyhound Bus in the opening scene. In many ways "Ride The Pink Horse" is very similar to other films to come within the next 10 years and may have been the initial influence.
