      Works as designed but a waste of $

      You have to have it if you want to control your nest door lock by google or another source. Seems another way for nest to make money and force you to purchase something else. But the item is good for what it was intended.So far it’s working but was a waste in using it for door lock control.

      Good item if you need it

      Nest Connect is an interface between your wifi and a Nest Secure device, like a Nest door lock or alarm. Or it's used a range extender for those devices. It requires nothing more than finding an appropriately located power outlet, plugging in and connecting it through the Nest app. It adds security through how it connects the device to wifi vs. relying only on your wifi pw/security for secure wireless connection. Small, very easy installation, reasonable price.
