    I5-2320 used for under$30. How could you go wrong?

    If your upgrading an i3 or a Celeron or a pentium in a lga 1155 board, for the price this is a great upgrade. Speed is day and night difference. Add a $40 120gb ssd for your operating system and you have a computer that won’t lag or struggle performing any task. 8gb of ddr3 and a solid video card and you can even game moderately.

    Intel i5-2320 processor

    This is a 95 watt version; if you want one that uses fewer watts there are 65 watt versions. The Intel stock fan with copper core is good enough for general use, but gamers would want a bigger ccoler.

    Exceeds 3 GHZ runs cool...

    Performs well enough for most games and well enough for any normal home or business use. Second generation runs around 30C cool to 79C hot use, with the correct paste and also making sure everything is clean before assembly. Also make sure good air flow around the computer.

    old but worth it

    got it used. works fine, so i'm very, very satisfied. it's a second generation quad core and that's a couple of generations ago, and it works as well as new. if it didn't work well, believe me, you'd know.
