A serious cassette, for a serious audiophile!

This line of cassette tape is exceptional in every way! It's the only chrome tape that I've used that has a sound profile that closely mirrors the best made type IV metal cassette, all for a quarter of the price! The headroom on this tape is very impressive. I recorded a rock piece on one-which ran the deck meter up into the +9 decibel in the red, level; without any discernible harmonic distortion at all! Just crisp, clear highs, excellent depth and dimensionality, with zero audio hiss during song play-without using the units Dolby B or C! This cassette offers an impressive 71db of dynamic headroom! For reference: a vinyl record tops out at about 55 db, and of course, CD's can run up to nearly 100 db-which this cassette can handle, if you use an HX Pro deck with Dolby C. Count me as one ...

  • Nothing wrong or vauge about the title. It caught my attention immediately.

TDK has been making audio recording tapes from the start of the magnetic-based format which starts with reel-to-reel. They even manufacture precision tape heads that go into a multitude of competitive brand cassette recorders. Although the cassette tape deck is now considered a vintage piece of audio equipment, there are millions of them in the field in which new recordings are being made. Some manufacturers use the premium TDK SAX as a reference standard when factory calibration/test is being conducted. Overall, considering the quality and reliability of all the different types/models of TDK blank cassettes, it's tough to go wrong using this brand.

  • NEW TDK SA 90 Type II High Resolution IEC II Audio Cassette Tape

I have not tried the product yet. Hope it works well. I have bought many other products and you have not asked me to rate them. Is there anything suspicious about this product?

  • Superb for Studio

I still have an old Fostex 4-track recorder that I use to write songs. The TDK Type II High bias is the best tape I have found for home studio recording and I would put it up against any digital computer recording program around.

  • Good Type 2 tapes for recording

These are good quality tapes, better than the maxells. I prefer the gold & black packaging ones to these, though. Those were built slightly different.
