      Variable speed fan control for fireplace blower

      Rheostat was a perfect addition to provide variable speed fan control for fireplace blower. Original blower control box simply had high and low options, which essentially turned on either one blower fan or two. Either of there original settings often times seemed too loud at night when watching TV. The rheostat provided a full range of speed options, allowing both fans to remain on, but reducing the speed of both to a reasonable loudness level. Wiring inside existing control box was easy to figure how to introduce rheostat wired in series. Only suggestion would be to have one of the two wire leads to have a female spade connector instead to 2 male connectors, or a least an extra wire provided to allow easy conversion to one female if needed.       rheostat burned out in about a week of use

      the rheostat for my wood stove did not have much variance between high and low to start out with but after about a week I heard a loud pop and the fan quit blowing. I bypassed the rheostat to get the fan going again. Bottom line, the rheostat only lasted about a week

      perfect match

      This switch is very similar to the original one, only difference is the diameter of the knob. The wire connections were the same as what was already there. The switch also controls the blower just like the original one.

      Varible speed

      Varible speed fireplaceswitch has no varible speed same where ever you turn it. it quit working less than thirty days.
