Technical issues but it is still a very fun game to play. Especially with friends.
The game is definitely fun and brings me back to the arcade. There are some issues though. The PS2 version is the toughest looking but I feel it has the best frame rate. The game is a lot of fun to play alone, but basically only one time. The sound is also weird. There are some sounds that are clear and precise and then other effects are substantially louder and sharper for some reason. Also the narrator voice is almost as muffled and old as the original gauntlet game. Over all it is a great gauntlet game.The game is definitely fun and brings me back to the arcade. Game
Game play has been perfect were already almost finished. There's been a small glitch with the spider queen level but only after playing it through a few times. I carefully wiped the disc but it didn't fix the issue. My husband and I couldn't play through the first level of the dream relm. Unfortunately we're probably going to have to buy another disc. :/

When I had my first PlayStation in was a 2 and this was by far my favorite game to play over and over. The levels don't change once you finish the game but there are many characters to play and try out their skills and also some fun cheat codes found on line. Although this was not compatible with my play station 3 ( they stopped making compatible consoles for ps2 games after the first year due to costs by the manufacture) I luckily still saved my ps2 and had a great time revisiting this game after all these years,comparable to "Super Mario Brothers" nostalgia. It has a few down sides, for instance levels that never seem to end,no map to guide you and not many great clues on where rune stones and special items are hidden. Fun to play with children as the sophistication and graphics are very mild. I am 37 year old female and my 40 year old Husband had fun for a week playing! Hope that helps for fantasy game lovers! P.s PS3 owners and Gauntlet lovers, Diablo is very similar with amazing graphics and characters with great powers and skills to be gained.

Game does work.
I take back what I said about the game not working and apologize. PS2 is older fat model and I opened it up to clean both lasers and now the game is recognized by the PS2. Thank you for the game, but I still had to get cleaned because of scratches.

I'll play it again, its that good.
Love the game, Gauntlet. Multi player, keeps you on your toes, its a great game to play even with the kids. Over all Gauntlet is a game to remember and play again.
