      Faulner is Awese

      The book by Faulkner is lots better than the movie. It's not a huge book, so it's a pretty quick read. However my relatives had not read the book liked it and thought it funny and cute. The book made me laugh out loud. And it's highly likely you'll understand the book even if you are not Southerner 😉! As a Southerner, I will admit that some of his stories just about elude me, esp. As I Lay Dying. My best friend, a Yankee, saw the play with me and hadn't a clue as to what it meant. I told her, "I kind of got it, but if I were not a Southerer, I would not have grasped any of it😋!! The movie was in excellent condition!

      Did not hold up over time

      Saw this movie back in 70's when it first came out. I had fond memories of this charming film...40 years later, it turns out to be about 2 hustlers taking a young boy to a brothel. Not exactly family friendly or as charming as I remember. Not terrible, but definitely one of Steve McQueen's better films.

      Scratched

      It was ok but had enough wear on the disk to make it stop suddenly throughout the movie. I had to play with ff and rw until it started again.

      Growing Up in Wild World of Yesteryear

      Good vintage movie production of famous book at the time. Trials and tribulations of young boy balanced by his innocence as he goes through process of seeing worldly values unfold before him. I saw the movie when about 12 years old. What a hoot! Learned some things

      Widescreen ruined the viewing enjoyment!

      I bought the dvd because I like the movie however the widescreen feature reduced the viewing area of the 60 inch tv to about half making it hard to watch.
