      Excellent Upgrade From Outdated DOCSIS 3.0 Modem!

      We have previously been using a Zoom 5341J DOCSIS 3.0 modem with Comcast since 2012. Recently it began to have some issues with dropping the connection and being unable to access it via LAN unless it was restarted, and this issue was occuring more and more frequently. Besides, the Zoom modem was also outdated and no longer technically supported. Even though we were paying for 400 MB service we were only able to achieve about 260 MB with the unsupported DOCSIS 3.0 modem. However, once upgrading to this Motorola MB8611 DOCSIS 3.1 modem, all of our woes and issues have completely disappeared. Not only is our internet service rock solid, but now we are also surpassing the 400 MB package that we pay for. We couldn't be happier! I just hope this modem lasts just as long as the old Zoom ...

      Installation couldn't have been easier

      Replaced a very similar model, MB8600. Comcast looks at the modem after it is plugged in, and accepts the change. No phone call required. This model is capable of higher speed, but 1.2 GBps is not available yet. If it comes, I will be ready.

      Easy setup and super data rate!

      I got an install of new Xfinity internet and to save money, I supplied the cable modem. Reason? Cable wanted an additional $15 a month if they supplied the modem. Plus, I would have to take whatever manufacturer's product was available. !!

      Easy upgrade

      Had to call my Xfinity to swap out my modem. We notice streaming shows is more reliable. We replaced a modem that was rated for a lower speed. Very happy with ordering and how quickly it arrived.

      Not sure if Spectrum disables AQM, but I lost access to the config pages once it was activated and score a C on Waveform bufferbloat test with this device. Great unit when configured properly, but not sure all ISPs do so.
