Synopsis
The Great God Pan is a novella written by Arthur Machen. On publication it was widely denounced by the press as degenerate and horrific because of its decadent style and sexual content, although it has since garnered a reputation as a classic of horror. Machen's story was only one of many at the time to focus on Pan as a useful symbol for the power of nature and paganism. The Hill of Dreams is a semi-autobiographical novel by Arthur Machen. Generally thought to be Machen's greatest work, it was little noticed on its publication in 1907 save in a glowing review by Alfred Douglas. It was actually written between 1895 and 1897 and has elements of the style of the decadent and aesthetic movement of the period, seen through Machen's own mystical preoccupations.

- r***h (98)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseBook was exactly as described for a fair price. Shipping time wasn't bad either. My only issue was the packaging. It was sent in just regular padded envelope no foam or cardboard in sight. There was a tear in the envelope but Luckily I received the book without any damage but it could've been an issue.
