    This movie is pure fun!

    This is simply a wonderful, "feel-good" movie about a single woman trying to open her own beauty shop and make a good life for herself and her daughter. The characters are true-to-life and the story is quite believable. I hate the term "chick flick", but I guess that is what this is, complete with a (mostly) happy ending. The casting is spot-on and you will enjoy seeing Gina and her gals at work and at play. I also laughed to see Kevin Bacon playing the part of the egotistical salon owner! Don't go looking for Oscar-quality, heart-wrenching drama here...just sit back and enjoy the story...and be prepared to smile at the surprise ending!

    NOT a Barbershop spinoff

    I had hoped this would be more of an engaging comedy with connections to the original Barbershop cast. This movie could have used a cameo drop-in by Calvin/Ice Cube to keep the connection alive. This is absolutely a "chick flick' without any appeal to the "guys"!
