        I like the program but if you've got complex taxes...think about going to a CPA.

        I had to stop using Turbo Tax. It was actually pretty easy to use but, after submitting it, I got audited twice in three years. This wasn't Turbo Tax's problem but resulted because a computer run by the State of Hawaii was designed to pick up fraudulent returns. My return was too complex and the computer essentially pulled me over like a traffic stop. So, I started hiring a CPA to do just what I had done. He came to the same conclusions. And now, the State of Hawaii recognized the fact that he was a tax professional going to bat for me. I stopped getting audited and that was the goal. It was a high price to pay for this professional "insulation" and I sincerely wish I could go back to just using Turbo Tax...

        Difficult to install.

        The CD would not load the program on my computer. I was able to download the program off the net and use the license code to get it working. Installation and activation was not quick and easy. I have used TurboTax every year, but the installation has never been this tedious. It took over an hour and several attempts that did not work to install it. I came very close to giving up.

        2023 Turbo Tax Premier

        The program is difficult to install. My daughter is a software specialist and it took approximately 3 hours to install on a Mac laptop. There was numerous glitches to work through during the install and throughout using the program. It's an expensive program and Turbo Tax should test run it before release. Totally frustrating. If I only paid $50 for the software, I would have abandoned it. Unfortunately, my brokerage firm only uses Turbo Tax, so maybe the world will come to an end before the next tax season.

        Can not RELIABILY transfer tax returns to another computer or open prior year returns on the same computer.

        This is not the least expensive product in the market for a 1040 and 540. But I have used it for years without a problem and so I wait until the price drops and make sure my taxes are paid by the deadline. What it does not provide is using it on another computer so you cannot reliably transfer prior year returns to another computer unless you rely on the either or both a paper copy and a PDF copy.

        Turbo Tax Guides Me Properly How To Complete My Taxes

        This Turbo Tax product is fairly easy to use. It does really help even if you do not do taxes for a living. If your return is super complicated and involves lots of $$, I would probably still go to a professional. But for everything else, you can trust Turbo Tax to steer you in the right direction.
